For some reason that I have no clue why but the thought of having a charity event crossed my mind this morning. Has anyone thought of hosting an event for a local charity in 2013? I have no clue who we would donate benefits to but some fast ideas would be larger charities for kids or the different types of cancer. I am always for the Fire Department because I know sometimes they are overlooked or what about veterans or military charities? What about a volunteer day somewhere? Just some thoughts on an event that could happen in 2013. Anyone think this is a good idea or have their own thoughts on the subject?

I have actually been in contact with Airsplat and airsoft megastore regarding sponsoring a charity event I was thinking of doing sort of relay for life only in airsoft

found this.

http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/give-back.aspx

It's where we would start in order to do a fundraiser for WWP.

Be careful with outside sponsors, if the field and the sponsor have issues...well been there done that. Celebs are even worse they sometimes want fees for showing up, or in the case of one of my T4T events didn't show at all.

Having run eight charity events I can help you out.

I just thought it would be a good thing for SLAP to have an event to give back to someone this year. :)

Ok so it's a "great idea I have that someone else can do" kinda thing? The main issue which is why the sponsorship idea was brought up, is most of the time the event leaders are out of pocket and recoup nothing....cept for a lot of bitching!

I like doing charity work, more now than before. I just can't justify losing a ton of cash just to have some jackass critic my hard work and tell me they could've run a better game. He'll one of my T4T's got a better review than the Op. Irene of that year. People still bitched!

I've had plans for games for sometime now, all shelved due to low turn out. I have a couple of SEAL buddies that may come out and do a sit 'n chat, then play a couple of games. For that to be a doable I need more than ten people, then maybe.

Want an event to give back....first we have to get!

Rant over for now.
