So I finally got my order from airsoftgi with the piston needed to get my F2000 back up and running (which now has all the upgrades from the MK43 in) and what do you know, three burst with the 11.1 and I felt something fling past my face and all I hear is the motor spinning. Perplexed by what I thought must have been the pinion gear somehow flinging itself out of a gearbox, I cracked it back open. To my surprise I found that my Bravo bevel gear decided it didnt need any teeth!
Every single tooth from the second set of teeth is sheered off. What is odd is that the other gears are all fine, aside from one tooth busted off of the pinion gear on my Element max torque motor. I guess the Bravo gears did not like 30 RPS @ 380FPS.
Im not sure if it is the power of the motor, or a bad gearset, but either way, it looks pretty cool. _________________ The only way to fight criminals is to, you know, be wilder than they are |

No, none of the gears locked, my only idea is that the anti-reversal latch slipped past unnoticed on the final assembly, but I was pretty sure that when I checked the box out before dissasembling it the gears only spun one forwards like they should have, and locked back against the latch when spun the other way.
Honestly I have no idea why they shattered, it makes no sense at all. If it were the anti reversal latch the gearset could have been rotating back to neutral when I hit the switch, which would possibly result in such destruction, but I really would have thought that at least one tooth on the spur gear would have died too, but they all look pristine.
I did loose one pinion gear tooth, which was located on the motor, and i have no doubt it made it anywhere but the top of the motor because the magnets on the motor will pull any steel object to it (including my hammer) from about 5" away.
I am just going to blame it on a anti-reversal latch problem, as that is the only explanation that makes any sense at all. Even still, it doesnt make much sense because it functioned fine on an 8.4 battery used to make sure everything was fine, and it was.
Maybe its just one of those fun anomalies that pop up every once in a while. _________________ The only way to fight criminals is to, you know, be wilder than they are |

Not attempting any necro posting but I have something to add,
My bravo high speed gear set also failed, but it was on the sector gear (the section off teeth that contact the spur gear) had 6 teeth stripped off. It was running fine on my set up around 25 bbs per second at 370fps on my 11.1v 20c LiPo (rps verified using sound recording and counting the spikes of sound in 1 second.)
I would have pictures up but I don't own a camera anymore at this moment. _________________ "You will miss 100% of the shots you don't take."
